Hades was born from Cronus and Rhea, after overthrowing his father from power with Zeus and Poseidon, he drew lots with them to share the universe. He drew poorly and ended up being the god of the underworld and ruler of the dead.
The Greeks were afraid to say his name if that could mean a sooner death, so they gave him another name, Plouton, which came from the Greek word of wealth, which made Hades also the god of wealth.
Although an Olympian, Hades rarely left the underworld. His weapon is a pitchfork which he can use to create earthquakes. He also had a helmet of invisibility.
